Nadi Shodhana Pranayama for overwhelm & anxiety
Many people are feeling totally overwhelmed and anxious at the moment however there are lots of ways to help you manage the stress and anxiety of overwhelm.
Here is a wonderful simple breathing technique which is almost immediate and is very easy to access.
Come to a seated position, either cross legged, sitting on your heels or on a chair.
Keep your back straight, eyes closed and make sure you are warm and comfortable.
Bring your hands to your heart in Anjali Mudra, prayer position, and gently press your thumbs into your chest, this pressure will bring immediate relief.
Start to breathe in and out in equal measure, slow and steady, feel your sit bones on the floor, feel your feet ground.
Keep taking deep steady breaths in and out.
Now bring your right hand up to your nose and press your right thumb onto your nose so you close your right nostril.
Bring your index and third finger to your forehead and close your left nostril with your fourth finger.
